Senior Events Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sr. Event Specialist to own the strategy, execution, and financial performance of our global event portfolio. This role is a critical component of our demand generation engine, perfect for a proven event marketing professional who can translate high-level business objectives into impactful in-person, hybrid, and digital event experiences. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Demand Generation, the candidate will lead the building and management of AVOXI's event programs to engage our global audience and accelerate our growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Lead the development of the annual event calendar, leveraging data and market insights to ensure alignment with AVOXI’s target accounts, product messaging, and demand generation goals.
- End-to-End Event Management: Own the end-to-end planning, project management, and execution of AVOXI's global event portfolio, including industry conferences, field events, corporate events, and webinars, ensuring flawless delivery and exceptional attendee experiences.
- Budgetary and Financial Management: Develop, manage, and meticulously track event budgets, ensuring all events are delivered within budget and maximizing ROI. Lead contract negotiations with venues, vendors, and suppliers to ensure favorable terms and high-quality service.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive post-event financial reconciliation and ROI analysis. Develop and present detailed performance reports to leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations for future event investment.
- Stakeholder and Vendor Management: Serve as the primary event stakeholder, leading collaboration with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Product) and managing senior leadership expectations to ensure cohesive event strategy and execution. Establish and manage relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and partners, overseeing performance and ensuring accountability for all deliverables.
- Marketing and Campaign Integration: Partner with the marketing team to build effective pre- and post-event campaigns that drive registration, engagement, and revenue. Ensure event topics and content align with target profiles to generate qualified leads.
- Technology and Process Optimization: Own the event technology stack (Salesforce, HubSpot), designing and optimizing workflows to ensure accurate lead capture, attribution, and performance tracking. Analyze event data to identify trends and inform continuous process improvement.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert on event marketing best practices. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to junior team members and contractors, contributing to the overall growth and capability of the events function.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in B2B marketing (or similar), including at least 2-3 years of events management experience. Proven track record of independently managing complex, high-impact events from concept to completion.
- Demonstrated experience in event budget management, financial tracking, and contract negotiation.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate event performance data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership.
- Expertise with marketing automation (e.g., HubSpot) and CRM (e.g., Salesforce) platforms in the context of event marketing and lead lifecycle management.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-savvy and passionate about staying updated on the latest event technology and competitive trends.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
